This book, a collaboration between Selina Swayne and Hanna Bayatti, started as a visual study of nothingness in manmade spaces. Selina Swayne’s photographs show transitory places, a wilderness in concrete. The reverse of the pages merges the real and unreal in Hanna Bayatti’s 3D collages of interior spaces. The result is a curious and uncertain exploration of the misplaced purpose of different spaces. The design of the book, a concertina in which the cross sections between the illustration and photographs were removed, produces a second outcome – a world with no boundaries.
